| Pascal Bonnet | Battery Subtype's - What are the differences? This session will review the differences between the various facility sub-types including their sampling and well testing requirements. Specifically, we will explore what equipment and layout should be in place for frequently used facility subtypes. The presentation will also provide insight into some of the most common errors in facility determinations where producers often use incorrect facility subtypes. |

Verifying Your Allocation Results This session will discuss various aspects of gas and liquid allocations and will share some ideas for verifying the accuracy of the results. Allocation methodologies, compositional requirements, and system configurations will be reviewed. The discussion will focus on various diagnostics and analytical tools such as yield analysis, component analysis, operated versus non-operated streams, and shrinkage analysis. |

Improving Measurement in Saskatchewan - Adopting Directive 017 and EPAP Many of the regulatory requirements with respect to oil and gas measurement in Saskatchewan are outdated and lack clarity. In order to enhance those regulatory requirements and to improve compliance enforcement, Saskatchewan plans to adopt its own version of Directive 17 and to follow that up with implementation of EPAP, which will include significant reporting changes in Petrinex. This session will review Saskatchewan’s plan for improving measurement. |

So Your Metering Difference Looks OK…. Most PAs are aware that they should be doing a metering difference across their flow networks to ensure volumetric balances are within +/- 5%. There is a second metering difference balance that can be done at the component level that will tell a PA about the quality of their hydrocarbon gas and liquid analysis data in the network. In this session we will: 1) Review why metering differences occur, 2) Review AER’s expectations around metering differences, 3) Introduce metering difference calculations at the component level, why it’s important and what it tells you, 4) Look at how to calculate the component metering difference, and 5) Look at Case Studies of plant data and component balances. |

Aaron graduated with a Diploma in Jazz Performance from Mount Royal College in Calgary in 2008, and is currently pursuing his Bachelor of Music and Bachelor of Education degrees at the University of Calgary. Aaron has performed with several jazz ensembles including the Aaron Scholpp Quartet. He participates in several local jazz jams at venues such as the Beat Niq Jazz and Social Club and Broken City Social Club. |

Pascal Bonnet – Battery Subtype’s – What are the differences?
Pascal attended the University of Alberta with a major in genetics.
He spent 16 years in the analytical laboratory business starting in environmental work before transitioning into Oil & Gas in 1997 when he joined Core Laboratories and ultimately was the Manager for their northern AB & BC operations.
Pascal left Core Lab in 2006 to join Prophet Consulting and then subsequently to Critical Control in the role of Director of Measurement Solutions in which he provided lead management and oversight in the development and implementation of measurement solutions including: (a) the Industry leading ProTrend Fluid Analysis & Measurement management software, (b) development of Database Driven schematics and Production Measurement Drawings services, and (c) Integrity Services, which provides services in Corrosion, Risk analysis and mediation plans for pipelines.
Pascal left Critical in 2012 to join Cenovus Energy as a Production Measurement Analyst where he provides EPAP auditing, Property measurement reviews and expertise on Operational and Production Accounting issues to the business.
Robert Elliott & Norbert Czypionka Verifying Your Allocation Results
Robert Elliott
Robert has 25 years of upstream oil and gas experience where he has worked for regulatory, service, and producer companies. He is a CAPPA instructor who has taught conventional oil and gas production reporting and currently facilitates CAPPA’s Schematics Seminar. Robert works at CNRL where he is a Supervisor of Property Accounting.
Norbert Czypionka:
Norbert has over 25 years of industry experience and has been active with CAPPA by serving as chairman of the Education Committee and as an instructor for various modules in the CAPPA Certificate Program. Norbert works at CNRL on the PA Resource Team where he provides property accounting training, mentorship, and support.
Maureen Evers–Dakers, P.Tech (Eng) – Midstream Measurement
Maureen was born and raised in Edmonton and graduated from NAIT in 1982 in Hydrocarbon Engineering Technology. She started her career with a major producer and has worked in the field of measurement, instrumentation and automation. She has worked both at the head office level as well as field and district office locations. She has extensive experience in Heavy Oil, Pipeline, Oil and Gas Production Midstream and Waste operations.
She is the now the Manager of Technical Services at Tervita in Calgary.
Maureen is active in the Industry Measurement Group (IMG) Canadian School of Hydrocarbon Measurement. She has published papers and technical articles and given numerous given presentations on topics pertaining to measurement. Maureen is a Professional Technologist-Engineering with the ASET.
Bruce Lerner – Improving Measurement in Saskatchewan – Adopting Directive 017 and EPAP
Bruce Lerner is the Director of the Petroleum Data Management and Compliance (PDMC) Branch within the Petroleum and Natural Gas Division of the Saskatchewan Ministry of the Economy. Bruce has been an employee of the Ministry in various capacities since he graduated with an Engineering degree from the University of Saskatchewan in 1980. Most of his tenure in the Ministry was spent as a Senior Engineer within the Petroleum Royalties Branch, but more recently (Sept. 2009 – March 2012) he was the Project Lead on the Registry Saskatchewan Inclusion Project (RSIP), the project through which Saskatchewan successfully joined Petrinex in March 2012.
Bruce continues to be actively involved in the Ministry’s major internal business process renewal initiative referred to as PRIME and is currently the project sponsor of the Well and Facility Infrastructure Project, the largest of the remaining PRIME projects due to be implemented in late 2015.
Al McCue - So Your Metering Difference Looks OK….
Al holds a BSc in Chemical Engineering from the UofC and a CAPPA certificate from SAIT. Al has spent most of his career working with computerized production accounting systems in the development, support, implementation, sales and marketing and training departments.
Prior to becoming a computer geek, Al spent several years in the field working on well cementing, acidizing and fracturing crews, on pipeline crews, and as a field operator for Texaco in the Drayton Valley area.
Al is a senior instructor in the CAPPA program and also teaches in the Gas Allocation seminars for CAPPA. He is currently president of his own consulting company called Apogee Services and current projects include implementing a large scale field data capture system and working with companies on PAS implementations.Yogi Schulz – Pushing Back Against the Misrepresentation of the Oil & Gas Industry
Yogi Schulz is a partner at Corvelle Consulting, a firm specializing in project management and information technology related management consulting.
Yogi has 30 years of Information Systems experience, of which over 25 have been spent as a consultant. He holds a B. Comm. from The University of Calgary. He is a member of PMI and CIPS and holds its ISP designation.
Yogi has presented at many conferences and writes a monthly blog at ITWorldCanada.com. He has written monthly columns for Computing Canada and The Calgary Herald that address IT management issues.
Ross Weaver & Wally Goeres – Petrinex is on the Move
Ross Weaver is President of PrimeQuest Resources Inc., a firm that consults to organizations in the areas of corporate strategy and governance, business development and project management. Ross has been contracted by the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers (CAPP) and the Explorers and Producers Association of Canada (EPAC) since November 2000, as Industry Manager at Petrinex.
Ross has over 35 years of broad experience in the oil and gas, and chemical sectors, holding a variety of senior executive positions, including President, Pan-Alberta Gas Ltd., Vice President Marketing, and Vice President Administration with Suncor Inc. Ross holds an MBA from the University of Western Ontario and a BSc from the University of Waterloo.
Wally Goeres & Ross Weaver
Wally Goeres is Executive Director of Petrinex, a position which he has held for the past 12 years.
Wally’s background is in accounting and finance and he holds graduate degrees in both these fields. His work history includes senior finance, accounting, and Information technology positions in the Canadian banking Industry and in government at the federal and provincial levels.
Wally splits his time between the Petrinex offices in Edmonton and Calgary.

Tina is President of t Works, as a professional speaker and trainer specializing in cross-cultural communication, work-life balance and inclusive leadership.

She is a contributing writer for the Human Resource Institute of Alberta’s Network magazine, Calgary Real Estate News, and Home to Home magazine. She is a professional member of the Canadian Association of Professional Speakers. Tina has been the face of diversity, literally, when she was chosen to be in Dove’s Campaign for Real Beauty representing beauty in diversity.

Erin Power
Erin Power is a seasoned wellness veteran in Calgary. Having run the gamut in the wellness world for the last 20 years and counting - from athlete, personal trainer and fitness instructor, to holistic nutritionist, meditation practitioner and green-smoothie-swigging yogini - there’s almost no fitness trend or diet fad she hasn’t tried!
Erin works with GoodLife Fitness as a Group Exercise instructor at a variety of their Calgary locations, and is a member of the corporate wellness team that helps facilitate workplace wellness events and initiatives. By day, she works as Marketing Manager and Director of Nutrition for local smoothie company, The Funky Banana.
As a Registered Holistic Nutritionist, Erin also helps coach clients toward effortless health through nutrition counselling and support (www.eatsimple.ca). In her spare time, she keeps busy on her hobby farm in the foothills of the Alberta Rockies, tending to her vegetable garden and training her horses.

Conference attendees must contact the CAPPA office in order to cancel their registration. Cancellations must be received in writing by email (cappacom@telus.net).
The following refund policy is in place:
- Full refunds will be given if cancellation to CAPPA occurs prior to Midnight on October 14th, 2014.
- A 50% refund will be given if cancellation to CAPPA occurs prior to Midnight on October 17th, 2014.
- Refunds will not be given after October 17th, 2014.
