About Us
The Canadian Association of Petroleum Production Accounting (CAPPA) is a non-profit organization founded in 1961 to provide a common body and voice for those involved in accounting for petroleum products. Today over 1,200 people from across Western Canada, representing more than 300 oil and gas companies, independent contractors and government regulatory agencies make up the membership of the Association.
CAPPA provides its members with information and resources critical to the profession of production accounting through our website, meetings and seminars. CAPPA works on behalf of our membership, with government and other industry organizations, by providing input and feedback on issues and developments that impact production accountants.
The objectives of the association are:
- To strengthen the profession of production accounting
- To provide a forum for those interested in the compiling and reporting of production statistics in the oil and gas industry
- To represent our industry specialization in a technical and procedural capacity with other organizations and government agencies
- To provide a quality education program that meets the needs of the individual member, the employer, and the industry as a whole in efficient production accounting practices and procedures
- To provide opportunities for members to engage in continuing education, networking, social events and business discussion
