At this time, we have moved our CPD Luncheons to the U of C downtown campus at the corner of 8th St SW and 8th Ave SW. With the current economic environment and corresponding lower member attendance we have needed to secure a more cost efficient venue. The U of C downtown campus has very nice luncheon meeting space and catering allowing us to avoid increasing participant fees. The location is also just steps away from the LRT stations. Join us for great presentations, an opportunity to connect with colleagues and a superb meal.
Presentation Summary:
Saskatchewan is implementing enhanced oil and gas measurement requirements (Directive PNG017) and the Enhanced Production Audit Program (EPAP – PNG076) effective 1 April 2016. Yogi Schulz and Clay Long will provide an update on:
- Changes to measurement and reporting requirements.
- Introduction of EPAP requirements.
- Operator implementation actions.
Presentation Description:
Yogi Schulz will present a summary of the changes to Saskatchewan’s measurement requirements. He will recap the process used to update the measurement requirements. The Saskatchewan Directive PNG017 was finalized in early 2015 and will be implemented effective 1 April 2016. ECON has provided operators with a four-year implementation period to remediate measurement where needed at their Saskatchewan properties.
Clay Long will present the development approach for the new Saskatchewan EPAP requirements in Directive PNG076 and the Guideline for Implementing and Operating the EPAP for Mid-Size and Small Operators. He will discuss the implementation plan including assignment of declaration months and the trial declaration.
Bio:
Yogi Schulz is a partner at Corvelle Consulting. Yogi led the development of EPAP for AER and is now advising Alberta oil & gas operators on effective EPAP operations. More recently, Corvelle worked with the Government of Saskatchewan to develop measurement requirements based on AER Directive 017 and EPAP requirements based on AER Directive 076.
Mr. Schulz has 35 years of Information Systems experience of which over 25 have been spent as a consultant. Prior to founding Corvelle, he worked as a senior consultant with DMR Group Inc. He holds a B. Comm. from The University of Calgary, is a member of CIPS and holds its ISP designation. He served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Professional Petroleum Data Management Association.
Yogi has presented at many conferences including CAPPA and project management conferences. Yogi writes a monthly blog at ITWorldCanada.com. He has written monthly columns for Computing Canada and The Calgary Herald that address IT management issues.
Clay Long is a partner in Corvelle Consulting. Clay advises oil & gas operators on effective EPAP operations. Corvelle is working with the Government of Saskatchewan to develop measurement requirements based on AER Directive 017 and EPAP requirements based on AER Directive 076.
Clay is a senior IT management consultant and project manager with over 30 years of business and IT experience. With a focus on the oil and gas sector, combined with an extensive electric utility background, he has a broad range of industry experience.
Clay has led initiatives corporate strategic planning, software development & implementation, RFP creation & execution, project reviews and business case development. His work has allowed him to gain knowledge of upstream production accounting, SAGD construction & operations, records management, pipelines and drilling.

CANCELLATION POLICY
CPD Luncheon attendees must contact the CAPPA office in order to cancel their registration. Cancellations must be received in writing by email (office@cappa.org). The following refund policy is in place:
- Full refunds will be given up to 10 days prior to the event.
- A 50% refund will be given up to 6 days prior to the event.
- Refunds will not be provided thereafter.
There is an administration fee of $20 to cancel.
Registration, however, may be transferred to another attendee without an administration fee. Please notify CAPPA of the transfer to another attendee. The original registrant would be responsible to sort the payment out offline with the new attendee.
